CONTENT
Educational
Technology II is concerned with “Integrating Technology into Teaching and
Learning”. Specifically this is focused on introducing, reinforcing,
supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they
can become exemplary users of educational technology. This course intends to
help our target learners to weave technology in teaching, with software
becoming a natural extension of their learning tools.
In essence, the
course aims to infuse technology in the student-teachers training, helping them
to adapt to rapid and continuing technological changes. That is, to provide
education in the use of technology in instruction, to impart learning
experiences in instructional technology supported instructional planning, to
acquaint students of IT related learning theories with the computer as a tutor,
to learn to use and evaluate computer-based educational resources, to engage
learners on practical technology integration, and to inculcate higher-level
thinking and creativity among students while providing them knowledge of
IT-related learning theories.
EXPERIENCE
Way back to the activities we had in Educational Technology
I, it showed us how technology a very useful in enhancing teaching and learning
through technology integration. Our instructor gave us various activities for
us to learn and develop our hidden talent and skills because it will be very
useful in our future carrier.
REFLECTION
In this topic,
it reminds us how to provide education in the use of technology in instruction.
This will help us in our student-teachers training to meet and adapt the rapid
and continuing technological changes so that we will be able to use technology
as a tool in appropriate topic or subject. That is, helping the learners to
learn easily and making learning be fun.
APPLICATION
As a future
teacher, I will not let my students to get bored in my class. Since I am a
science teacher, I will give them various activities letting them to explore
and experience. It may be a form of group activities or individual involving
technology integration in instruction in some activities. However, if the
activity for the certain topic doesn’t really need technology, then, I could
use other materials just to meet their needs. I could use technology as a tool
for instruction anyway but not always in evaluation.
